November 25, 2024
The Philippine Rice Information System (PRiSM) marked its 10th anniversary with a National Convention on November 19, 2024, at the DA-CBC Plenary Hall in Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija.
Themed “PRiSM@10: Shaping the Future of Rice Monitoring and Management for the New Philippines,” the event celebrated a decade of service in transforming the Philippine rice sector.

The convention brought together key stakeholders from across the country to strengthen collaborations and showcase the immense value of PRiSM’s data-driven tools. Through advanced technologies such as remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and crop growth simulation models, PRiSM has significantly enhanced decision-making, policy development, agricultural interventions, and disaster preparedness in the rice industry.
These innovations have empowered stakeholders with timely and accurate data to better monitor and manage rice production.

One of the highlights of the event was the poster competition, where the DA-Regional Field Office Eastern Visayas clinched first place. The competition also saw DA-RFO CALABARZON taking second place, followed by DA-RFO Caraga in third, all recognized for their outstanding contributions to advancing rice sector initiatives.
PRiSM’s 10th anniversary not only highlighted its past achievements but also reinforced its commitment to shaping the future of rice monitoring and management in the Philippines, ensuring a sustainable and food-secure future for the country.
