The National Food Authority (NFA), in collaboration with DA-PhilRice, has successfully completed the nationwide implementation of the Bantay Palay App. The rollout concluded in September 2024, marking the app’s full operational status.

The rollout was conducted in three clusters: Luzon (August 11–13 in Rizal), Visayas (September 1–3 in Cebu), and Mindanao (August 25–27 in Cagayan de Oro).

The training phases emphasized the app’s technical protocols, such as standardized data collection schedules and role-based responsibilities. By transitioning to a digital platform, the NFA has eliminated significant delays in price reporting and has provided the Department of Agriculture with a high-integrity database for monitoring rice nationwide.

The Bantay Palay App represents a significant step in modernization efforts. Now fully operational, the system serves as a key benchmark for the NFA’s Price Range Scheme (PRICERS), ensuring that government buying prices remain competitive and responsive to the needs of Filipino farmers.
