Springer’s new book featuring PRISM is now out!

LOOK: Philippine Rice Information System (PRiSM) technologies and its role as a national monitoring and information system in delivering timely information on rice production are included in the recently-released book by international publisher, Springer.
The book Remote Sensing of Agriculture and Land Cover/Land Use Changes in South and Southeast Asian Countries is a collection of papers on remote sensing technologies beneficial for agricultural research and other applications. It provides an in-depth discussion on remote sensing application in agriculture in South and Southeast Asian countries.
This book is categorized into four parts: (1) international, regional, and national programs in agriculture; (2) crop mapping, monitoring, yield, and water resources; (3) prediction and modeling; and (4) agricultural land cover/land use changes.
Chapter 10 features PRiSM coverage, technologies, and data products. It also highlighted its transition from R&D to operations and the different lessons learned in the process. Meanwhile, some technologies used by PRiSM such as the Synthetic Aperture Radar, leaf area index (LAI), and the crop growth simulation model, ORYZA, are discussed in detail in Chapter 9.
